Games

Below are just a few game you can play in the classroom between lessons, before recess & lunch, or just because.
Sleeping Lions/Dead Dogs

In this game students all find a spot to lay on the ground and are not allowed to move or make a sound. You either choose someone to be in, or you are in, and when you spot someone moving or making noise, they are out.

I usually suggest that the first few people I get out help me find more people to get out and then one you're out after that you return to your seat.

Silent Ball

Silent Ball is a game where you pick a spot in the room and you are silent. Students throw a ball around the room to each other. If you drop it or fail to catch it you are out.

The designated ruler/King/Queen can change rules like "You can only catch with one hand". They are also the only person permitted to talk other than the teacher. If you talk you are out, if you don't follow the rules you are out.

Buzz

Buzz is a spelling game where students must spell a word correctly then complete the word by saying the word buzz. Students go around a circle contributing one letter of the word each until the word buzz. The person after the word buzz must sit down.

If you contribute the wrong letter or take too long you are out.
